Secure Data Destruction

Your organization’s single largest risk when disposing of obsolete computer equipment is data security. You need to be 100% sure that all data is destroyed and be able to prove it with a secure data destruction process.

Back Thru The Future provides secure data destruction with both onsite and off-site certified hard drive shredding and disintegration services.

We are both a Federal EPA registered and NJ State licensed electronic recycling facility as well as being one of a very few electronics recyclers that is both NAID AAA and PCI DSS certified secure. We maintain the electronic recycling industry’s highest certifications.

We operate a fully integrated electronics recycling operation that includes shredding electronic components and the highly specialized ability to sort the shredded components into pure recyclable materials.

Additional Services Include:

Hard Drive Shredding

According to the NIST 800-88 publication, shredding hard drives is the most secure and compliant form of data destruction. The shredding process eliminates any possibility that the data can be recovered. It also removes any margin of error from a degausser not properly working, data wiping software error, or a damaged hard drive retaining data.

We remove and shred all hard drives from equipment we receive. No data is recoverable, which makes us the most secure option for hard drive disposal.

Solid State Drives

Solid state storage devices present a security challenge. Degaussing does not work on SSDs and overwriting is prone to error. Onsite shredding is the most effective method for sanitizing SSD and solid state cards

Because of the very small size of solid state circuitry, NIST destruction guidelines require a maximum shred size of 1/2 inches. Back Thru The Future is one of only a very limited number of onsite SSD shredding services that can meet this shred size standard.  Adopting onsite SSD shredding as your universal data destruction process eliminates the technical challenges of sanitizing solid state media. It provides a one-stop solution to all of your data destruction needs.

There are over 500 Federal and State regulations governing IT asset disposal. Back Thru The Future understands these risks and has the tools and experience to guide our clients through this complicated regulatory landscape.
