Green Earth Technology Disposal - NJ Computer Recycling

How Do You Select A
Computer Recycling Vendor?

A good website? A persuasive sales person? A referral?

Would you use the same criteria to choose your tax accountant? You’d probably start by looking for a CPA - a “Certified Public Accountant”.
Computer recycling and disposal is becoming a complex regulatory environment - as is tax law.
Such an environment calls for a credentialed and licensed professional.

20 Years of Excellence in
Environmental Handling of Electronic Equipment

Back Thru The Future (BTTF) supplies computer recycling and other technology disposal services to some of the largest financial, pharmaceutical, legal and medical organizations in the country. As it enters its 20th year, BTTF has established its brand as the technology disposal authority. Highly credible, professional and dependable, BTTF provides the strongest regulatory compliance documentation in the industry.

We not only know the laws, we help write industry standards.

We sat on the National Association for Information Destruction committee (www.naidonline.org) that set the certification criteria for the secure destruction of hard drives, as required by Federal and State Laws protecting sensitive personal information. We also sit on the ARMA International committee (the association for records managers) that sets the guidelines for the legally proper method for destruction of electronic business records. BTTF sat on the electronic industry “stakeholder” committee in Trenton that commented on amendments to the recently passed (2008) NJ e-scrap legislation. We were the only electronic recycler on the committee.

Know the Difference Between

New Jersey DEP Licensed Computer Recycling Facility and

NJ DEP Registered Facility

Processing electronics requires a license which entails having appropriate air quality, water quality and EPA handling permits. A licensed processing facility is audited monthly by regulatory agencies and non-compliance notices are publicly available.
Registration
Registration, both with the U.S. EPA and State DEPs, simply identifies a facility as a storage and handling location. It is prohibited from processing electronics.

You Need a Professional -
- committed to the knowledge required to legally and properly provide the services you seek,
- service provider that adheres to a set of recognized industry standards.

What are computer recycling and disposal regulatory and legal concerns in New Jersey?

Compliance to the New Jersey Recycling Enhancement Act of 2008. BTTF is 1 of only 7 electronic recycling facilities in New Jersey with a Class D recycling permit, the highest possible licensing standard, and are the only facilities permitted to process electronics in the state. Class D facilities are identified as recycling destination facilities. We provide annual computer recycling activity reports to your local municipality and to the NJ DEP, as required under this new law. Your local municipality will receive recycling funding from the state based upon these reports.

FACTA and State Identity Theft laws require 3rd party destruction due diligence to determine the competency and integrity of the disposal company.

NAID CERTIFIED

We are one of only a handful of electronic recyclers nationally that have been certified by NAID as a AAA secure data destruction facility and are audited twice per year (once randomly).

Legal Compliance to the Federal Court's amended 2006 FRCP "Safe Harbor" data destruction provision as it relates to litigation discovery of electronic records.
Back Thru The Future's Safe Harbor Data Destruction and Safe Harbor Express services were designed specifically to comply with this provision.

Compliance Standards.
Because of the high standards BTTF sets for itself, our environmental compliance documentation is a legal document in all 50 States. If you are currently receiving environmental compliance certification and data destruction certification from another recycling vendor, wouldn't it be nice to know what their standards are?
